BYREDO was founded in 2006 by Ben Gorham. Ben began to be intrigued by scent and memory after travelling to his mother’s hometown in India, where he was stirred by the aromas of spices and incense. Inspired by this trip, BYREDO’s scented candles and perfumes have been developed with an understated approach, using simple composition of the highest quality raw materials.
They are so expensive because they attempt to capture experiences and create quirky or unique scent. This is a true art form using the Scent of Mens as the form of Art as opposed to a canvas. These fragrances can transport you to the perfumers idea of art.
Byredo Gypsy Water (2008) The woodsy aromatic. Bergamot, Lemon-Pepper, Juniper. Bergamot is like a greenish orange lime, this mixed with the lemons and the pepper and Juniper which is a slightly spicy berry. This fragrance is very soft, soft as a feather. Three words would be an Aromatic, Soft, Wood. The silage is poor but the scent, while short lived is completely amazing. It does have an amber sandalwood vanilla finish which on my skin can last up to seven hours.
Byredo Oud Immortel(2010) a woody chore, merges patchouli and papyrus, which is essentially a green, slightly minty or spicy scent. It gives it an aquatic accord because the papyrus is grown in water. Its kind of a minty, woodsy, dry scent. It Provokes a very well blended smoky character. Than they add tobacco leaf and moss for its complexity. Finish off with an elegant white, rosewood and insence. This type of Oud is different than most commonly used composition with the old and Rose Flare. Smells exceptionally well in colder weather and lasts all day long. Very Long Lasting.
Byredo 7 Veils Seven Veils Eau de Parfum(2011) Carrot Seed, Pimento Berries, Tahitian Vanilla Flower, Laurier Rose, Glycine Tiger Orchids, Sandalwood and Vanilla. Sweet Indian Carrot Pudding. Carrots Orris and Vanilla. Within in 5 minutes it changes its complexity. Very Unique. The Vanilla becomes more of a smoky Vanilla. Great Longevity with average Projection.
Byredo Black Saffron(2012)With Chinese Grapefruit, Juniper Berries, black violtes, leather, vetiver and Raspberry. Saffron is a spice which all has antioxidant benefits, so in this case you could be spraying your way to health and wellness. This is like Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather. Its a very soft scent and luxurious. With Two Hours Projection, than you smell rich like leather for three more hours. This fragrance ranges itself from dark notes but in a unique light way, I do not know how. It is very very modern and at the same time minimalistic, even though it was created in 2012
Byredo Super Cedar(2016) A woody floral musk with simple minimalistic qualities, Found it for $230 on Prime Amazon 1.7oz. Rose, Cedar, Vetiver and that is it. When used in Hot Weather, Baam! It is Outstanding. This has the Iso E in the background making you want more and more of this very fresh and. Creeps cedar vetiver scent.
Byredo Sunday Cologne(2014) Star Anise, Cadamon, bergamot. The star anise fruit is a star shaped unique fruit here in America I rarely see it at my local department store. It has a sweet white flesh to it. This fragrance has a five-spice asian flare to it, combined with lavendar, geranium, incense, vetiver, patchouli and moss. It is very safe to wear and smells amazing, however not the greatest in longevity or projection.
Byredo Velvet Haze(2017)This will sell out. Hibiscus, coconut, bergamot, patchouli, osmanthus, tuberose, ambrette seed, musk-mallow, cocoa pods and cashmere. Very Very Long Lasting. Like Narciso Rod meets Coc Madameoisell Chanel. Coconut, earthy, patchouli, with a hint of cocoa musk. It Seduces whomever you wear it around. Ultra Modern and Comfortable to wear. Goes well anywhere, anytime of day. This is a true winner with outstanding performance. This one will intrigue you, starts out nasty and harsh but finishes so lovelevly. $325
Byredo Accord Oud(2010) tons of compliments Blends agar with fresh leather, blonde woods, spices, saffron, cinnamon, black plum, blackberries, saffron rum, leather clary sage, patchouli powder and musk. Extreme longevity, Its a straight up masterpiece. Byredos Accourd Oud is like Amouges Jubilation 25. Very Boozy, rum, with strong blackberries and our as opposed to commonly used roses. Very Masculine. Picture Tom Fords Tuscan Leather and add Blackberries. The oUd is tamed down, very versatile and a cool oUd. I picture a wooden barrel with aging booze in it and hit it with some dark chocolate just a touch. Mmm..Dellicious. WoW!
