The Story:

On one of my visits to Saudi Arabia in April, I went to Taif, a very old city in the Al Hadi Mountains. It’s 2000 meters above sea level and overlooks Mecca. I visited during the rose harvest. Local farmers grow the Ward Taifi rose, which is part of the Damascenia Rose family and has been used to make pure rose water since ancient times.

I stayed at a small hotel in Taif and got up early to see the rose harvesting. The roses are picked by hand before sunrise and taken to a local distillery where farmers are paid right away. It was an amazing experience, and I have a great photo of me surrounded by Taifi rose petals. “Rose of the Desert” is my tribute to the Taifi rose and my special morning with these beautiful flowers.

This fragrance is powerful and floral, with the scent of the Taifi rose. It starts with a fruity smell, followed by fresh green notes. The middle has a rich mix of flowers like lotus, jasmine, and magnolia. The ending has amber, frankincense, vanilla, and tonka beans. It also has a musk scent that makes it last a long time.
